Kindergarten Week 5 Sept 17-21

By Abby Stiltner

We are winding down to finishing our !st six weeks!

This week we will be learning about the color Orange.  Orange will be our color for color week.  We will also be learning the number 5, writing the letter Dd and learning sight words a, and, an, the.

Please continue to work with your children on reading their decodables and review sight words.

Please help your child be prepared for report cards by helping them make sure they know how to spell their name ORALLY (we will write them next six weeks), recognize and write letters Aa-Mm. Students need to be able to write these letters from MEMORY.

Yearbook sales are going on and forms will be sent home on Monday.

Please register your ValuCard at Food City for Hurley Elem/Middle. This will help earn our school money for events and supplies throughout the school year. Also, please save your BoxTops and turn those in. This is also a way for our school to earn money.

The United Way fundraiser has been continued for another week. Ms. Ruth is asking for students to bring $1 to represent every student in our school. This will be a fundraiser for our entire county.

Please save twist on bottle caps for Mrs. Leanne Clifton. She uses these items for art projects on Earth Day. She also saves pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House to help families in need.

I hope everyone has a safe week with Hurricane Florence moving in!
